Questions
Got a question about getting married? Chances are, I've been asked before!
What's the Payment Schedule?
Your $200 deposit is required to book my services and lock your date into my calendar. The remaining balance is due a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your ceremony, but you are welcome to pay earlier if it suits your budget better.
How far in advance should I book my celebrant?
Most of my couples book anywhere between 6-18 months before their ceremony date but the absolute minimum time frame is 5 weeks beforehand to ensure we can complete your legal paperwork in time. Earlier is better to avoid disappointment as popular dates do book out fast!
What if COVID happens and we have to postpone?
Great question. If COVID restrictions mean you have to postpone, I will first try to accommodate your new date (assuming you still want to get married!). If I can't accomodate your new date, I will offer you a full refund. Please note, cancellations other than COVID have a different policy and may result in a forfeit of deposit.
Can you play the music for us during our ceremony?
Yes- I have connectivity to my high quality PA system to play music for you. I may need an extra set of hands pressing play and pause, so I will ask you to nominate a guest of yours to help with this.
What areas do you cover?
Included in my quoted fee is any location within 100km of Brisbane city. Also included is any venue on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Toowoomba. Areas outside this radius will incur an additional fee. Any additional fees will be advised to the couple prior to booking confirmation- I pride myself on no hidden surprises later!
Can you help us write our vows?
Yes I sure can! And it's already included in your quote. First of all, personal vows are absolutely optional and you don't have to have them in your ceremony if you don't want to. However I believe they are a highlight of most ceremonies and I am happy to offer assistance in writing your vows and reviewing drafts.
What do we need to bring to our first meeting?
When completing the Notice of Intended Marriage, I will need to sight proof of birth and photographic evidence of identity. The easiest way to tick these boxes is if you both bring your passports, or if you don't have a passport we can also use a Birth Certificate and Drivers Licence. If you don't have these available, let me know and we can discuss other alternatives.
Why should we book with you?
I'm young, I'm fun and relaxed. I get my couples because I AM them. I offer the meaningful and traditional elements of a wedding ceremony, but bring the personality, laughs, and (if all goes to plan) the happy tears. I take the time to learn about you as a couple, hear your story together and retell it for your guests, sharing the highlights of your time together in your ceremony.
Do you offer rehearsals?
Yes- I've found what works best with my couples is to offer a "virtual rehearsal". We schedule a phone call the week of your wedding to reconfirm all details and run through the flow of the ceremony to make sure you're both totally comfortable with what to expect on the day.
